NSF Certified Degasifier with Blowers for
H2S Removal from Drinking Water
Most municipalities have drinking water plants to process potable water for distribution throughout their pipeline to both residential and commercial customers. In some geographic regions of the country, the sources of this water are wells that contain Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S). Drinking water that contains even small amounts of H2S can contain an offensive odor similar to rotten eggs.
KCH can provide Degasifiers to remove the H2S from the water source. This process is also called forced draft aeration and is mandated by the EPA to be used if the source water has in excess of 3.0 mg/l for H2S. The Degas or Aeration process produces an off-gas that contains high levels of H2S stripped from the water. This tail gas requires an Odor Control System so the Water Treatment Plant can be a good neighbor to eliminate nuisance odors. KCH can provide the Odor Control System and take single source responsibility. Odor Control Systems can be comprised of Biotrickling Filters, Wet Chemical Scrubbers, Carbon Adsorbers or a combination of these technologies.
