Powder Coating
KCH operates a new large-batch powder coating booth and curing oven at our coatings facility in Forest City, NC. The spray booth and oven can handle single parts as large as 10′ tall x 10′ wide x 20′ long. Various racking configurations can be designed for processing multiple parts in a batch.
Nearly all of KCH manufactured products are protected by a high-performance thermoplastic based powder coating. This coating is excellent on mild steel, galvanized steel, or aluminum. It is resistant to stress cracking and is excellent for use in chemically corrosive environments. The coatings are also exceptional for outdoor applications in the southern U.S. where salt spray and UV weathering can attack and break down traditional coatings. It is proven through ASTM testing to maintain color and glossiness for extended periods.
KCH also offers custom powder coating services for industrial and commercial business. The standard process for coating KCH Metal or Alloy based products are grit blasting, adhesion coating, powder-coating, and thermal curing. Mil thickness tests are standard procedure. KCH powder coated products average 7-12 mils thickness and can be applied up to 25 mils.

KCH also performs in-house water jet cutting and metal fabrication to provide a complete custom fabricated and coated metal product. Unfortunatley, KCH does not provide powder coating services to the general public for one-off type applications.
